Munji
About This Spot
Munji greets you like a quiet neighborhood nook where life slows down just enough to savor something simple yet deeply satisfying. Nestled on a lively street in Antwerp, its modest kiosk-style presence belies the attentive warmth tucked inside. The space hums softly with the gentle rhythms of casual conversation, the welcoming clinks of takeaway orders, and the subtle bursts of fresh spices in the air—a quiet invitation to pause amid the city’s buzz.
Here, the mood is unpretentious and steady, a place where the pace favors connection over rush. There’s a comforting kind of intimacy found in a handful of small tables peppered throughout the space, where locals and visitors alike gather to enjoy a shared moment around the same singular offering. It’s a spot where the joy isn’t just about food, but about the little rituals that come with it—the swiftly wrapped parcels, the camaraderie of passing down sauces, the gentle care in every bite.
Munji’s culinary approach echoes this focused simplicity: with one humble dish at its heart, the falafel wrap becomes a canvas for freshness and thoughtful flair. The falafel arrives crisp and light, tucked into vibrant wraps brimming with vegetables that talk of the season’s best. Alongside, a trio of house-made sauces—each distinct yet harmonious—adds intrigue, gently coaxing out layers of flavor without overwhelming the palate.
There’s an evident reverence here for balance: heat that flirts rather than scorches, textures that offer comfort alongside a little crunch, and flavors that celebrate tradition while feeling freshly imagined. The atmosphere mirrors this balance, warm and inviting but never overstated, encouraging relaxed conversations and small discoveries in every mouthful.
For anyone searching for a pause in the everyday rush—where food is more than just fuel but a quietly joyful experience—Munji quietly unfolds its charm and welcomes you in.

It almost never fails that shops with a very limited menu are usually very good at what they do, and Munji didn't disappoint with the falafel wraps! I usually like my food pretty spicy, but I ordered a back-up non-spixy wrap just in case the spicy one was Asian spicy and not European spicy, if you know what I mean. The spicy wrap was just European spicy, which he might have done purposely based on my complexion, haha. Perfect, because the mango and other sauces brought it to the next level. The 8.50€ per wrap was a very price.

We were looking for vegan options and found this gem! The falafel was incredibly fresh and flavorful. We also tried the Ayran—it was homemade and delicious. The place has a warm, cozy vibe, and we absolutely loved it. Highly recommend!

This place is exactly my kind of street food spot. The menu is refreshingly simple: a falafel wrap—classic or spicy—and three drink options. The falafel is crunchy and light, and the wrap is vibrant, packed with fresh vegetables. What really sets it apart are the trio of sauces served at the table—pomegranate molasses, chili, and a mango sauce with turmeric and chili. That mango sauce is genius! I didn’t expect to like it, but it pairs surprisingly well with everything. Their lemonade is also a standout—fresh, tangy, and just right for a hot summer day. As someone from Aleppo, I can say this is the real deal—authentic Aleppian street food at its best. So happy to finally find good, authentic, and affordable Syrian food in Antwerp!

Best falafel wrap I’ve had in Antwerp so far! Fresh, flavorful, and hits just right. Don’t skip their 3 sauces especially the pomegranate molasses. As someone from the Middle East, I’m not easily impressed by falafel abroad, but Munji nailed it.

I promised to leave a British review so here it is Small kiosk-style restaurant with a handful of tables. Lovely owner made us feel welcome. They only serve one dish—falafel—in two varieties: classic or spicy. I went classic. Honestly, right up there with the nicest falafel I’ve ever eaten. Would definitely recommend.

Im living in Antwerp and i can say it’s the best restaurant to eat falafel in Antwerp. Traditional Arabic falafel with its authentic taste. Everything was delicious; we are delighted with the experience. Thank you.

Great place for a wrap! Gentleman was kind and passionate about the food he made! Wish it was more of a sit down inside place but the outdoor seating was cozy and warm. The falafel was epic! And the service was great :) Hope for more variety from this place in the future. Would come back for sure!

Whilst visiting Antwerp, our family of 4 was looking for a good falafel place when we stumbled across this gem. Service is excellent, the owners greet you with warmth and a smile, super happy to help or answer any questions. Food is super tasty! We are a Vegetarian family, and for us this food was top class. Every element of the Wrap was done with precision and care. The placement of the falafel with the hydrating tomatoes and pomegranate as well as the other sauces made sure that each bite was balanced and tasty! Tried both the options (Spice and Classic) and both were DELICIOUS!! Will definitely reccomend!!
